From Øystese, the tour heads into the Hardangerfjord towards the entrance of Fyksesundet, the narrowest fjord arm in Hardanger. But before continuing deeper into the sound, you’ll learn more about salmon farming. The Hardanger Akvasenter offers guided tours and tastings of delicious salmon along with local cider or apple juice.
After some time at the centre, it’s time for nature, speed, and adventure. As you travel into Fyksesundet, you’ll be surrounded by towering 1,000-metre-high mountains on both sides and get up close to stunning waterfalls. There will be several stops where you’ll learn about life along the fjord.
The return journey goes via Kvamsøy and Tjuvaholmen back to Øystese.
